In November, local tourist destinations served nearly 428,000 travellers, a year-on-year increase of 15.07%. The tourism sector earned over 585 billion VND, up 15.53% from the same month last year.
In the January-November period, the province welcomed nearly 8.1 million tourist arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 30.44%, 8.06% higher than the yearly plan.
Of the total, the number of international tourists amounted to 1.08 million, the highest figure so far, and making up 7% of the total number of foreign visitors to Vietnam.
The figure has set a new record for the provincial tourism sector and affirmed its position in Vietnam’s tourism map as Ninh Binh ranks in the top 15 leading destinations and the top 10 provinces and cities attracting the highest numbers of tourists. The province has continuously named an appealing destination by domestic and world tourism magazines.
Bui Van Manh, Director of the Department of Tourism, said the outcomes were attributed to the efforts, creativeness and effectiveness of local administrations and travel companies in implementing policies on tourism recovery amid the new context.
At the same time, the Department has worked closely with the provincial Tourism Association to encourage travel firms to enhance tourism promotion, increase the service quality and launch new tourism products.
In the year, the province has actively promoted tourism potential in international markets and participated in international travel fairs. These activities have helped the image and brand of Ninh Binh tourism reach out furthur on the international tourism map and lure more international guests.
With its steady growth, Ninh Binh’s tourism sector is hoped to fulfill its target of earning over 8 trillion VND in revenue in 2025 and contributing around 6.5% of the province’s GRDP.
By 2030, the province’s tourism revenue is expected to hit 18.66 trillion VND, and contribute 8% of its GRDP, Manh said.
It also sets a target of building Ninh Binh into a big centre of tourism, cultural industry and heritage economy of the country and in the Asia-Pacific region, he added.
