Ninh Binh province creates momentum for breakthroughs

Striving to achieve GRDP growth of 12% in 2025

With its exerted efforts, in 2024, the province has fulfilled and surpassed 17 out of 17 socio-economic development targets. Notably, the provincial economy has recovered positively. Its GRDP expanded at 8.56%, surpassing the set target. The province’s economic scale reached 98.9 trillion VND (nearly 3.87 billion USD) while the per capita GRPD was 96 million VND.

The province has collected over 20.7 trillion VND for the state budget, while total social investment capital saw a year-on-year increase of 8.5%.

The province’s industrial production rebounded strongly, with a growth rate of 11%, the highest figure since the beginning of the 2020-2025 tenure.

Infrastructure construction, especially transport infrastructure, has received due attention, thus creating new breakthroughs for socio-economic development.

Notably, trade and services continued to enjoy high growth. The tourism sector welcomed over 8.7 million tourist arrivals, and earned nearly 8.9 trillion VND in revenue, much higher than that of 2023 and surpassed the yearly plan. Ninh Binh retained its place among the top attractions in the country.

In 2025, the province is determined to make breakthroughs in a bid to fulfill goals and tasks set by the resolutions of party congresses at all levels for the tenue 2020-2025.

The province is striving to obtain a GRDP growth rate of 12%, a year-on-year increase of 3.44%; a per capita GRDP of 105 million VND, and an urbanisation rate of 45.1%.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan said 2025 is a pivotal year for Ninh Binh to speed up, make breakthroughs and lay the foundation for the 2025-2030 tenure and the five-year socio-economic development plan for 2026-2030.

To effectively implement the year's work theme, the provincial Party Committee and its Standing Board will continue to maintain the tradition of solidarity, unity, democracy; tighten discipline; create substantive changes from awareness to action; and promote the spirit of dedication of each official and party member; make great efforts with a high determination as well as breakthrough, creative, feasible and effective solutions, striving to complete and exceed the targets set in 2025 and for the entire term, he said.

Promoting democracy – a key factor

 Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc said implementing this year’s work theme and socio-economic development tasks set for 2025, Ninh Binh is striving to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 12% and collect over 20.4 trillion VND for the state budget.

The province’s export turnover is hoped to reach 3.4 billion VND, while its per capita GRDP is expected to hit 105 million VND. Ninh Binh expects to serve 9.1 million tourists with revenue of 10 trillion VND. It also eyes to complete tasks of building new-style rural areas in 2025.

To fulfill the set targets, Ninh Binh will focus on boosting economic development in combination with renewing and improving the quality of growth; restructuring economic sectors synchronically in line with developing sectors and fields; removing and using resources effectively in a bid to create new opportunities to attract investment, developing tourism services and cultural industries into spearhead economic sectors.

 Ninh Binh is making great efforts to become a centrally-run city by 2035 with characteristics of a millennium heritage and creative city.
