The event was jointly organised by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the Institute for Conservation and Development of Traditional Culture; Responsible Borneo (REBORN); the provincial Department of Tourism; and Tam Chuc National Tourist Area.
Over the two days of October 28 29, scholars and experts attending the International Responsible Tourism Workshop (RTW) Ninh Binh 2026 focused their discussions on five key themes: nature-based tourism; culinary arts; cultural and artistic values; effective human resource utilisation; and smart tourism strategies.
The workshop produced three key outcomes: a consolidated report on the International Responsible Tourism Workshop Ninh Binh 2026; a policy advisory report on tourism development in Ninh Binh; and a framework for responsible tourism development in the province.
The Ninh Binh Declaration 2026 was also announced at the conference, setting out a series of key principles and priorities. These include creating favourable conditions to raise awareness and translate responsible tourism principles into practical action; applying these principles across both the public and private sectors; and introducing and promoting responsible tourism models and practices through print and digital media platforms.
The declaration also calls for stronger cooperation among stakeholders at both national and international levels; proactive efforts to shape the future of responsible tourism development in Southeast Asia; and the fair and reasonable allocation of resources among stakeholders in the tourism sector.
Other priorities include managing the acceptable limits of change during the development and transformation of tourism destinations in Ninh Binh and other localities, as well as taking the lead in promoting and spreading good responsible tourism practices among small and medium-sized tourism businesses.
At the event, the organising committee presented certificates of participation in the International Responsible Tourism Workshop (RTW) Ninh Binh 2026 to 70 experts and scholars./.
