Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dang Thanh Son on June 2 received Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Ganbaatar Hulan, who was in Ninh Binh to attend the international seminar “Journey to UNESCO Documentary Heritage - Inscriptions on Non Nuoc Mountain”.

At the reception, Son briefed the Ambassador on the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province following the administrative merger, highlighting its outstanding potential and advantages in terms of geographical location, industry, services, tourism, and cultural heritage. He also outlined the province’s vision of becoming a centrally-governed city before 2030.

Introducing the rich historical and cultural legacy of the ancient capital region, the Vice Chairman emphasised that Ninh Binh is home to a diverse heritage system comprising more than 5,000 historical, cultural, religious, and spiritual sites, festivals, and traditional craft villages. In particular, the cliff inscriptions on Non Nuoc Mountain constitute a valuable repository of historical, literary, and cultural records, vividly reflecting the cultural depth and intellectual contributions of generations of distinguished Vietnamese figures.
Son expressed his hope that the Ambassador and the Embassy of Mongolia in Vietnam would continue to support the nomination dossier for the inscription of the Non Nuoc Mountain cliff inscriptions on the Asia-Pacific Regional Register of the UNESCO Memory of the World.
He also called for stronger connections and cooperation between Ninh Binh and Mongolian localities in the fields of heritage preservation, tourism development, people-to-people exchanges, and youth cooperation.
For her part, Ganbaatar Khulan highly appreciated Ninh Binh’s unique historical, cultural, and natural values, particularly the Trang An Landscape Complex, as well as the province’s efforts in preserving and promoting its heritage.
The Ambassador affirmed her commitment to supporting stronger cooperation between localities of the two countries.
She also expressed her desire to establish cooperative relations between Ninh Binh province and Khovd province of Mongolia in areas of mutual interest, including heritage conservation, tourism development, agriculture, youth exchanges, and cultural promotion./
