Hanoi’s tourism sector has activated a package of 80 new tourism offerings to showcase its cultural heritage while celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
Divided into eight categories, the offerings span heritage, culture, and history, eco-tourism and nature, gastronomy, shopping, and city life, arts and nightlife, hotel-based services, transport by metro, waterways, and air, agriculture and craft villages, and regional and international linkages.
Carefully curated to spotlight the capital city’s cultural and historical richness, the package reflects visitors’ experience trends and provides travel firms, tour operators, and hospitality providers with opportunities to collaborate, expand promotion, and develop local tourism in a sustainable, professional, and modern fashion.
The crown jewel of the tourism stimulus package is “The Hanoi Train”, also known as the Hanoi Five City Gates Train, scheduled to debut on August 19. The double-decker train features five passenger carriages, each named after one of Hanoi’s historic city gates O Cau Den, O Quan Chuong, O Cau Giay, O Cho Dua, and O Dong Mac. Drawing inspiration from memories of Hanoi in the subsidy period and historical milestones, The Hanoi Train combines nostalgic interior design with distinctive cultural and culinary spaces of the capital.

The train will run three round trips daily from Hanoi Station and stop at Long Bien, Gia Lam, Yen Vien, and Tu Son (Bac Ninh) Stations, with departures at 8:00, 13:30, and 20:00, offering passengers spectacular views of Hanoi’s daytime and nighttime landscapes.
As for the Ha Dong Cat Linh urban railway stretching 13 kilometres with 12 elevated stations, the line is not only a modern public transport system but also a convenient gateway for tourists to explore cultural, historical, and entertainment sites along its route.
Details, images, and QR codes for all 80 products will be made available to travel businesses, media outlets, and visitors. The city has called for close cooperation from travel firms, service providers, and press to joint promotion efforts during the celebrations./.
