Tourist arrivals to Ninh Binh surge by over 80% in February

Ninh Binh province welcomed over 4.07 million holidaymakers and earned nearly 4.37 trillion VND (192 million USD) in revenue, posting year-on-year increases of 13.52% and 20.12%, respectively.

The nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, which fell on February, and favourable weather conditions helped increase the number of visitors to the province.
Cultural and tourism activities were organised enthusiastically and diversely, meeting the needs of the people and tourists for celebrating the Lunar New Year, sightseeing, and experiencing the culture.
The number of tourists visiting local tourist areas and destinations in February is estimated at over 4.07 million, of whom, the number of tourists visiting tourist areas and destinations during the Lunar New Year of the Horse (February 14 to 22) reached over 2.37 million, an increase of 81.4% compared to the Lunar New Year of the Snake (2025).
The number of tourists staying at accommodation establishments is estimated at over 712,000, an increase of 41%. The number of tourist nights is estimated at nearly 783,000, an increase of 40.40% compared to the same month last year.
Total tourism revenue in February is estimated at nearly 4.37 trillion VND, an increase of 20.12% compared to the same month last year.
Overall, in the first two months of 2026, Ninh Binh tourism continued its growth momentum. The total number of visitors is estimated at over 5.4 million, an increase of 9.86% compared to the same period last year. The number of tourists staying at accommodation facilities is estimated at nearly 1,134 thousand, an increase of 33.15%; and the number of tourist nights is estimated at nearly 1,255 thousand, an increase of 35.22%.
Total tourism revenue in the first two months of the year is estimated at nearly 5.84 trillion VND, an increase of 15.89% compared to the same period last year.
Notably, during the Tet holiday, the province organised many fireworks displays, attracting a large number of local people and tourists to visit and enjoy. On the 3rd and 4th days of the Lunar New Year, Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area organised a mini-show "Songs of Nature" and an art programme "Spring Leads the Way," creating an attractive highlight in the spring travel itinerary.
Along with unique cultural activities, tourist areas and attractions in the province proactively prepared well to serve visitors during the Lunar New Year. Many new products and services were introduced, contributing to improving the quality of the experience.

Besides the traditional domestic market, the number of international tourists from India and many European countries increased significantly, contributing to a vibrant multicultural face for tourism in this heritage land.
In parallel with serving tourists, state management of tourism continued to be strengthened. Tourism activities during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, as well as throughout February, were stable and safe, creating a positive impression on domestic and international tourists, thereby laying a favourable foundation for the tourism industry to continue its growth and sustainable development in 2026./.
