Lao Minister of Agriculture and Environment Linkham Douangsavanh on July 15 visited and worked with the Dong Giao Foodstuff Export Joint Stock Company (DOVECO) in Ninh Binh province.
In his welcoming speech, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DOVECO Dinh Cao Khue briefed on the company’s process of establishment and development as well as its production and business activities.
At the working session.
With more than 70 years of development, DOVECO has grown into one of Vietnam's leading producers, processors and exporters of fruits and vegetables. The company operates an integrated value chain that links raw material production, industrial processing and product distribution.
DOVECO currently operates agricultural processing centres in Ninh Binh, Son La and Gia Lai provinces, while developing an extensive network of raw material areas across Vietnam. The company manages around 3,500 hectares of concentrated farming areas in Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Son La and Gia Lai provinces, and maintains production partnerships with farmers and cooperatives to ensure a stable supply of raw materials for processing and export.
The integrated production model has helped raise the value of agricultural products while creating jobs and improving incomes in farming communities. DOVECO currently employs more than 3,300 workers directly and works with approximately 28,000 farmers and labourers across its production areas. Its products are exported to Japan, Europe, the United States, the Middle East and numerous other international markets.
Khue said that, alongside expanding export markets, DOVECO is placing greater emphasis on strengthening agricultural cooperation with neighbouring countries, including Laos.

Based on field surveys and research, the company has identified significant potential for developing export-oriented crops such as passion fruit, pineapple and bananas in several Lao provinces. Areas in Houaphanh, Xieng Khouang and Attapeu provinces possess favourable climate conditions, elevation and soil characteristics that are well suited to the crops DOVECO is cultivating in Vietnam.
The company is therefore seeking to enhance cooperation with Lao localities and businesses through the exchange of expertise in developing raw material areas, transferring cultivation technologies, improving post-harvest preservation and agricultural processing, and expanding market access.
Lao Minister of Agriculture and Environment Linkham Douangsavanh speaks at the session.
Speaking at the meeting, Lao Minister of Agriculture and Environment Linkham Douangsavanh highly evaluated the working visit, describing it as an important opportunity to strengthen exchanges and explore agricultural cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, particularly with DOVECO.
The minister expressed his hope that DOVECO would consider investing in modern raw material production areas integrated with agricultural processing facilities in Laos, helping establish closed-loop production chains and increase the added value of the country's agricultural products.
He reaffirmed that the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment would continue facilitating cooperation between localities and businesses from both countries in raw material development, technology transfer, agricultural processing and human resource training, further deepening bilateral agricultural ties.
During the visit, the Lao delegation toured DOVECO's production and processing facilities and learned about the company's quality management system at its factory./.
