This year, Vietnam received nominations in multiple categories, including Asia’s Leading Beach Destination, Asia's Leading Heritage Destination, Asia's Leading Cultural Destination, Asia's Leading Regional Nature Destination, Asia's Leading Youth Travel Destination, and Asia's Leading Destination.
Other Vietnamese nominees include Tam Chuc Complex for Asia’s Leading Cultural Tourist Attraction, and Ha Long Bay for Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction.
Hanoi was shortlisted in several categories, notably Asia’s Leading City Break Destination and Asia’s Leading City Destination, while Hue was nominated for Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination.
Both Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City were nominated for Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination.
Meanwhile, Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s sole nominee for Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination.
Vietnam secured three of the eight nominations for Asia’s Leading National Park, namely Cat Tien National Park, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and Cuc Phuong National Park.
For Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination, Vietnam is represented by Dong Van Karst Plateau, Ninh Binh and Yen Tu.
In the Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination category, Moc Chau was again nominated alongside leading natural attractions across the region.
The results of the 2026 World Travel Awards Asia region are expected to be announced at the Asia, Oceania and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, scheduled to take place in the Maldives on September 27.
