The visits are made at the invitations of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his spouse, and Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse.
The delegation includes Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee’s and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac, and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang; as well as members of Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung.
Other officials include Nguyen Huy Tien, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy; Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Vo Van Hung, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Nguyen Huy Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt; Duong Chinh Chuc, Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola; and Duong Quoc Hung, Assistant to the President.
The visits by President Luong Cuong, his spouse, and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation represent an important political and diplomatic event, underscoring a strong commitment to creating breakthroughs, elevating bilateral relations, strengthening political trust, and deepening traditional friendship.
These visits are expected to open a new phase of Viet Nam's cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics and trade, with Egypt and Angola, as well as with other African nations. Egypt and Angola are influential countries and leading economies in the African region.
President Luong Cuong’s State visits not only reaffirm the faithful and enduring ties forged and nurtured during the struggles for national liberation, but also offer a timely opportunity for Viet Nam, Egypt, and Angola to exchange views on directions and measures to elevate their relationships to a new height.
The visits also aim to build more substantive, effective, and sustainable partnerships that meet the development and international integration needs of each country in today’s evolving global context.
The visits are also expected to promote stronger cooperation at international and regional forums and organisations, particularly within the United Nations, ASEAN, the Arab League, the African Union, and the Non-Aligned Movement.
