At a recent regular press conference of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, a representative from the Department of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity stated that the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has approved the plan and budget for reviewing and finalising the project dossier for establishing the Kim Bang Delacour’s Langur Conservation Area.
The project is expected to be implemented in 2026.
According to specialised agencies, the research on establishing the conservation area aims to contribute to protecting the population of the Delacour’s Langur, an endemic primate species of Vietnam currently classified as endangered and in need of conservation.
Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has also requested local authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of mineral exploitation and construction material production in the relevant areas, while focusing on protecting the habitats of endangered species, preserving landscapes, and restoring the environment in mining areas that have closed or are about to close.
Experts and international organisations have also recommended strengthening biodiversity protection measures, consolidating protected area systems, and enhancing adaptation to climate change, thereby contributing to the fulfillment of global commitments on nature conservation./.
