After merging of three former provinces of Ninh Binh, Ha Nam and Nam Dinh, the new province’s export scale and momentum has increased remarkably. The province’s total export turnover enjoyed a 2.5-fold rise, from 9.16 billion USD in 2021 to an estimated 22.75 billion USD in 2025 with average growth of 25% per year.
Ninh Binh currently has diverse advantages in the manufacturing, processing, textile, mechanical, construction materials, and agricultural and aquatic product processing industries. There are over 1,100 enterprises participating in import-export activities in the province.
Ninh Binh sets goals and orientations for the period of 2026 2030. Accordingly, the province will continue to maintain a stable growth rate, focusing on key products with advantages such as processed industrial goods about 99.67%; agricultural products, processed food 0.25%; and handicrafts 0.075%.
It is expected that key products will achieve large turnover by 2030: Electronic components reach 23.17 billion USD, average growth of 16.16%/year; computers and computer components reach 2.8 billion USD; garments are estimated to reach 4.2 billion USD; footwear is estimated at 2.5 billion USD; and automobiles and auto parts are expected to reach 1 billion USD.
Ninh Binh province will also consolidate, expand and diversify markets, proactively participate in the global commodity value chain.
The provincial People's Committee also offers comprehensive solutions to improve competitiveness and develop sustainable supply chains such as improving the business environment by implementing administrative procedure reforms, especially in investment, import and export, taxes, and strengthening coordination between departments and branches.
It will step up the application of science and technology, encourage investment in technology, improve the quality of goods, and promote the application of e-commerce in export activities. At the same time, the province will prioritise projects on new materials and environmentally friendly products associated with green transition.
Ninh Binh will develop human resources by organising training on international legal knowledge, import and export operations, trade promotion skills and branding.
Regarding logistics development, the province will call for and attract investment in logistics infrastructure projects, inland container depots (ICDs), bonded warehouses, and the Ninh Co deep-water port construction project to reduce transport costs and increase competitiveness./.
