This is also an important information channel to introduce the province’s potential, strength and investment climate to foreign investors so as to spur local socio-economic development.
Last year, the province successfully organised numerous overseas trips for provincial leaders and officials to learn experiences in operations of people-elected agencies; step up trade promotion; and coordinate in cultural and educational exchanges with other countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Egypt, South Africa, China, the Republic of Korea and Japan.
These trips not only helped popularise Ninh Binh’s culture, nature and people to international friends but also introduced the province’s investment opportunities to foreign investors and sought chances to send local labourers to work abroad.
In addition, the province’s leaders also actively joined working delegations of the Government, ministries and sectors to attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos and pay official visits to Hungary and Romani in January 2024.
In 2024, the province’s leaders received and worked with dozens of delegations coming from many countries, such as a delegation from the Supreme People’s Court of China; a delegation from the French Embassy; a delegation from the Department of Education and Sports of Oudomxay province (Laos) and a delegation of the UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations.
The provincial authorities also provided favourable conditions for foreign journalists, international filmmakers and directors to work and to choose filming locations.
In particular, the province focused on renewing and improving the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy; and issued mechanisms and policies to lure overseas Vietnamese to visit relatives, make investment, do business and join charity activities.
