The adjustment aims to add technical infrastructure facilities, expand the land area required for the project, and complete an integrated transport connectivity system along the route.
Under the decision, the total investment has been increased from 6.86 trillionVND to 9.11 trillion VND, sourced from the State budget and the provincial budget. The land area required for the project has also been expanded from approximately 273.57ha to 303.62ha.
The adjustment will allow for the addition of several technical infrastructure components to optimise connectivity along the entire expressway.
Under the revised plan, the project will include three connecting ramps, an additional carriageway at the Mai Son interchange, and an overpass at the Khanh Duong interchange.
The revised investment structure covers construction costs, compensation and support costs, resettlement expenses, and necessary contingency costs.
The Ninh Binh section of the Ninh Binh-Hai Phong Expressway is 25.3km long and officially broke ground on April 19, 2025. The section begins at the Mai Son interchange, connecting with the eastern North-South expressway in Yen Thang ward, and ends at a bridge crossing the Day River in Khanh Thien commune, providing a connection between Ninh Binh and former Nam Dinh province.
The project is being developed as a complete four-lane expressway designed for a maximum speed of 120km per hour, with a 15m-wide roadway. The section includes 12 bridges, three of which are local traffic overpasses, as well as three interchanges.
To ensure the overall project schedule, the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee has asked localities along the route, including Yen Mo, Yen Tu and Khanh Nhac, to step up land clearance efforts.
Provincial departments, agencies and relevant units have also been instructed to closely coordinate with the project developer to promptly address difficulties and obstacles arising during construction./.
All additional and adjusted components under the new decision are required to be completed in 2028, helping ensure the synchronized operation of the regional transport infrastructure system.
