The blaze started on June 27 evening and flared up again on June 28, burning approximately 3,000 3,500 sq.m of forest. Most of the affected area consisted of ground vegetation, shrubs, and climbing plants, according to the People's Committee of Tam Chuc ward.
Immediately after the fire was detected, leaders of Tam Chuc ward personally directed firefighting efforts involving the ward police, the local military command, forest rangers, mass organisations, and local residents.
According to the local authorities, no casualties or property damage were reported during the firefighting operation.
