Drastic actions needed to expedite two key projects: Leader

These include a project on building Ninh Binh-Hai Phong expressway’s section running through Ninh Binh and the other project on expanding the Cao Bo - Mai Son section of the eastern North-South expressway.

The Department of Transport - the investor of the project on expanding the Cao Bo - Mai Son section of the eastern North-South expressway, reported that it has urgently completed a technical design document to submit to authorities for verification and approval in line with regulations.

The department and the consulting unit are working with the Department of Construction Management under the Ministry of Transport to finalise the verification report. The technical design document and cost estimates for the project are scheduled to be approved later this month. The selection of the contractor is expected to be conducted in December and work will start on the project in the same month.

A representative of the provincial management board of transport projects – the investor of the project on building Ninh Binh-Hai Phong expressway’s section running through Ninh Binh, said that the unit has completed the selection of contractors, consultant and building projects.

At the meeting, members of the steering committee put forth solutions to speed up investment procedures to soon commence construction as planned. They also discussed ways to remove difficulties and hindrances in site clearance, building technical design, and money for compensation of reclaimed land.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc spoke highly of the efforts and determination of related localities, departments and sectors and in implementing their assigned tasks.

For the project on expanding the Cao Bo - Mai Son section of the eastern North-South expressway, Ngoc asked related units and sectors to speed up the appraisal and approval of technical design and estimates so as to select the contractor and start construction as scheduled.

For the project on building Ninh Binh-Hai Phong expressway’s section, he requested local departments and sectors to focus on finalizing the technical design and cost estimates.

It is necessary to evaluate and count affected households in Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts so as to build plans for compensation and resettlement areas for them, he said.

Ngoc also asked authorities at all levels and sectors to work together closely during the implementation of the two projects, ensuring the quality of construction at the highest level.
