All three acts presented by the Viet Nam Circus Federation secured awards at the International Circus Festival Gold Elephant (Festival Internacional del Circ Elefant d’Or 2026), held in Girona, Spain, from February 27 to March 3.

As a region of cultural and historical traditions, Ninh Binh province is always busy with festivals when the spring comes. These festivals do not only serve the religious demand for local people but also attract tourists from all parts of the country as well. The province are taking all necessary precautions to ensure security and order.

The Tran Thuong Temple Rice Distribution Ceremony was taken place at Tran Thuong special national relic site in Tran Thuong commune in the evening of March, 2nd- the 14th day of the first lunar month.

The seal opening ceremony was held on the night of March, 2nd - the 14th day of the first lunar month at the Tran Temple-Pho Minh pagoda special national relic in Nam Dinh ward.

Authorities of northern Ninh Binh province on February 28 held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s decision recognising the Tam Chuc scenic and archaeological complex as a Special National Relic.

Tam Chuc Pagoda solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2026 with the theme "Dawn of the Buddhist Realm - Tam Chuc Opens Spring" on February 28 morning (the 12th day of the first lunar month), at the Tam Chuc National Tourist Area in Tam Chuc Ward of Ninh Binh province.

The People’s Committee of Dakrong commune in the central province of Quang Tri, in coordination with the Dakrong Forest Protection Station, on February 26 handed over a small-clawed otter to the Cuc Phuong National Park and the Wildlife Rescue Centre in Vietnam for further care and rehabilitation.

A buffalo body-painting competition took place on February 22 (the sixth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse) as part of the Doi Son ploughing festival 2026. The event was a distinctive activity that added an artistic highlight to the festival.

The Ploughing (Tich Dien) Festival, an annual festival held on the seventh day of the first lunar month, officially opened in the Tien Son ward, Ninh Binh province.

In the early days of the Lunar New Year 2026, a vibrant festive atmosphere has taken place across many localities, attracting large numbers of residents and visitors.

Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival 2026 officially kicked off on February 22nd (or the sixth day of the Lunar New Year) with the theme “Sacred atmosphere in the ancient land”.

Ninh Binh is not only home to numerous beautiful landscapes, but it also boasts to plenty of traditional festivals. Some of major spring festivals can be mentioned as followed:

Families across the northern province of Ninh Binh gathered at pagodas, temples and shrines in the early hours of the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 17) to offer incense and pray for peace and prosperity.

The ceremonial part will proceed with full solemnity under traditional rites, including commemorative orations, incense offerings to the Tran Kings, water and land processions, and other ritual observances.
