Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Truong Quoc Huy hosted a reception on August 18 for Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh.

At the meeting, Huy, who is also Head of the provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, briefed to his guest on the province’s development orientations.
After the mergence, Ninh Binh ranks 6th in the country in terms of population with a relatively goo economic size. These are important foundations for the province to set rapid and sustainable development targets in the coming time, he said.

At present, the province is preparing all conditions to organise the provincial Party congress, setting a target to become one of the localities with high growth rates of the whole country.
Apart from socio-economic development, Ninh Binh has paid due attention to expanding international cooperation, including Laos and its localities, Huy noted.
In the past few years, the province has issued numerous mechanisms and policies to spur economic and cultural cooperation and exchanges, including policies to support Lao students to study in the province.
Huy expressed his wish that in the time to come, Ninh Binh and Lao localities would enhance exchanges and comprehensive cooperation in various fields, such as economy, culture, society, thus nurturing the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
For her part, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh commended on the achievements recorded by the province and expressed her belief that with abundant resources and right directions and orientations, Ninh Binh would make breakthroughs and develop sustainably in the new period.
The ambassador hoped that Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh in particular would continue to pay special attention to and expand investment into localities of Lao, especially twinned localities, in the fields of agriculture, industry, tourism, and education.
