Secretary of provincial Party Committee inspects preparedness for storm No. 3

Huy and the working delegation inspected the pumping and drainage for industrial parks, rice and crop areas, and key irrigation works of the province, including: Hoanh Uyen II pumping station, Bui II pumping station (Dong Van ward), Ngoi Ruot pumping station (Chau Son ward), Vo Giang pumping station (Tan Thanh commune).

These are pumping stations that play an important role in pumping and draining water for Dong Van I, Dong Van II, Chau Son Industrial Parks and agricultural production of the province.

Through the actual inspection of the pumping stations, Huy requested the Management Board of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks to improve the drainage capacity for the canals leading to the main pumping stations, to prevent flooding in the industrial parks.

Relevant agencies must strictly comply with the on-duty tasks according to regulations, and monitor the path of storm No. 3 to have timely response solutions, he said.

The official also reminded localities, especially urban areas and industrial zones, to brace and trim trees to limit their fall when storms hit the mainland, and urgently dredge drainage sewers.

The Department of Industry and Trade must ensure stable power supply to drainage pumping stations during the storm, and review plans, prepare forces and means to respond to unusual situations and incidents, Huy added.
