Ninh Binh accelerates site clearance for North South high-speed railway project

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Cao Son and a working delegation on July 29 afternoon inspected the progress of site clearance for the North South high-speed railway project running through Ninh Binh province.

As planned, the North-South high-speed railway’s section running through Ninh Binh province has a total length of around 86 kilometres, spanning 21 wards and communes. There are three stations in the province, including Phu Ly, Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh stations and three maintenance stations in Binh Son and Lien Minh communes and Yen Thang ward.
The total area of reclaimed land is over 610 hectares, including 36.47 hectares of residential land, 513.5 hectares of farming land; 11.15 hectares of forest land and 51.49 hectares of other land.
The section running through former Ha Nam province has a total length of over 32 kilometres and spanning over 10 communes and wards.
At the working session, representatives of localities reported on the preparation for site clearance, including surveying the project's scope of influence, calculating the area of land to be recovered, classifying land, assets and related architectural works, as well as resettlement plans.

Son spoke highly the proactiveness and close cooperation of departments, sectors, consultant agencies and local administrations in expediting the site clearance work.
Son noted that the North-South high-speed railway is a key national project, therefore, the site clearance must be carried out constantly and proactively. In order to ensure the progress of of the project, site clearance must be done first, Son added.
He also asked communes and wards to soon establish steering committees for site clearance, deploy the building of resettlement areas, and encourage affected households to hand over reclaimed land as scheduled.
The Vice Chairman also assigned the provincial People’s Committee’s Office to soon issue an official announcement for localities to implement. The provincial People’s Committee will also establish two working groups to assist in handling arising problems, he said.
The delegation made a field trip to inspect the location reserved for building a residential area in Dong Van ward and the other location earmarked for a station in Liem Tuyen ward.
Son also directed localities to speed up the site preparation and construction of resettlement areas. At the same time, he requested the Department of Construction to provide clear guidance on the investment plan, determine which items need to be bid, which items are designated for bidding to promptly implement in accordance with regulations and progress.
