Ninh Binh speeds up progress of key projects

After nearly four years of construction, the project on building a bridge spanning over Van River and the road leading to the bridge in the western side (Hoa Lu city) has basically completed. The contractor is completing some remaining items such as lighting, handrail and pavement systems and planting green trees.

A representative of the Department of Transport, said the project has total investment capital of 340 billion VND.

The bridge is 64.69 meters in length and 24 meters in width. Two roads leading to the bridge have a total length of 280 meters.

The project has impressive design which simulates the common reed flower and a dome. It is seen as a highlight of Ninh Binh’s urban landscape.

The East-West road project (first phase) has a total length of 22.95 kilometers and total investment capital of over 1.9 trillion VND.

The section connecting Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district is designed to have four lanes while the section connecting the starting point with the intersection of the North-South expressway will have eight lanes.

Construction of the project have faced numerous challenges due to complicated topography of mountains, hills and low lands.

After two years of construction, the project has been basically completed.

These days, hundreds of vehicles, equipment, engineers and workers are working round the clock in a bid to speed up the progress.

The enthusiastic and bustling working atmosphere is also seen at some construction sites such as the project on building Hoa Lu University; project on upgrading and expanding road leading to Kenh Ga tourist site and Van Trinh cave; project on building Van Hanh road and canal, project on building a coastal road running through Ninh Binh province.

 A part from hastening the speed of construction, Ninh Binh is actively finalising procedures relating to the selection of investors and contractors in a bid to start other important projects, namely the project on building Ninh Binh – Hai Phong expressway’s section running through Ninh Binh province; project on building hi-quality service department of Ninh Binh’s General Hospital; and project on building and upgrading Ninh Binh traditional medicine hospital.
