From the determination of the Party Committees and the administrations to the joint efforts of the community, thousands of households throughout the province have received support for building new houses or repairing existing homes, contributing to changing the face of rural areas and strengthening people's trust in the administration.
Political determination from the first steps
Immediately after the Prime Minister launched the "For the Poor - Leaving No One Behind" movement for the period of 2021-2025, the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee identified the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as a political task of special importance. This awareness was quickly concretised through a series of directives, resolutions, and plans tailored to the practical conditions of each locality.
Besides the involvement of the political system, Ninh Binh has also seen many good models and innovative approaches, such as the "Solidarity House for Catholics and Buddhists" model of the Buddhist Association and Father Bui Van Ke in Quang Lac commune; the "Fund to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" of Khanh Thuong commune; and the "2,000 Dong House" movement of the Provincial Veterans Association. These models not only provide practical resources but also spread the spirit of solidarity and sharing within the community.
The joint efforts of businesses, people, armed forces, and organisations have created a tremendous combined strength to gradually resolve the issue of temporary and dilapidated houses.
The programme has supported 3,629 families, including 1,778 households building new houses and 1,851 households repairing existing homes, helping thousands of families have safe and stable homes. The total cost of implementation reached 410.51 billion VND, sourced from various sources.
In addition, localities mobilised 12,737 workdays and various materials such as cement, bricks, stone, and sand, contributing to reduced costs and accelerated construction progress.
Comprehensive effectiveness and a stepping stone for new development phase
The achievements not only address the urgent need for housing but also directly contribute to promoting sustainable poverty reduction. Many households, after receiving support for new homes, have boldly invested in livestock farming, production, and trade, gradually stabilising their lives.
In particular, the programme has created widespread consensus within the community, strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and administration.
The programme's achievements also clearly demonstrate the management and operational capacity of the government after the province's merger.
At the end of August, Ninh Binh held a ceremony to announce the completion of the programme to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. This is not only a milestone acknowledging the province's efforts but also demonstrates its determination to be ready for a new development phase.
With these achievements, it can be affirmed that the spirit of solidarity and the joint efforts of the entire political system and the community will continue to be the "key" to unlocking new successes for Ninh Binh on its socio-economic development journey in the future.
