Ninh Binh boasts great potential for development of cultural industry
Besides, Ninh Binh boasts dozens of famous landscape sites such as Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex which was recognised by UNESCO as a World Natural and Cultural Heritage, Hoa Lu ancient capital, Bai Dinh pagoda, Tam Coc – Bich Dong, Van Long nature reserve, Cuc Phuong National Park, and Phat Diem stone cathedral. These are fantastic places for sightseeing and can be served as ideal settings for the creation of outstanding cultural products.
In particular, Ninh Binh is rich with its traditional historical values. It was the capital of the first feudal state of Dai Co Viet under three dynasties of Dinh, Tien Le and Ly.
These huge potential resources have been defined by provincial authorities as the foundation to develop the cultural industry, especially in the fields of tourism, Cheo singing, Xam singing, handicrafts, cinema, arts and photograph and exhibition.
In the past years, Ninh Binh has coordinated with units and organisations to hold a wide range of cultural and artistic events like the international dance festival, The Music of ABBA, Miss Cosmo 2024, the third Ninh Binh Festival 2024.
Fashion show of the Miss Cosmo 2024 was taken place at Khe Coc island.
Cultural values and heritage space have been combined with art performance in a bid to create special effects for the programmes and leave unforgettable experiences for participants.
The province is also home to numerous traditional singing and art types such as Cheo, Xam, Ca tru and water puppet. Professional art clubs and units have composed many works and plays that combine folk and contemporary factors to serve local people and travellers at local tourist destinations.
In addition, the romantic and breathtaking natural space and gorgeous cultural works are favourable conditions for the province to develop the cinema industry.
In the past years, famous film directors and producers have chosen Ninh Binh as a filming location for their well-known movies such as Indochine and Kong: Skull Island.
In 2022, Ninh Binh was named one of the 12 "coolest filming locations" in Asia, according to US Magazine Travel+Leisure.
Apart from defining potential for developing the cultural industry in the new context, Ninh Binh has expedited some breakthrough tasks and issued policies to call for investment and mobilise individuals and organisations to preserve, restore and uphold heritage values in the province.
At the same time, it has also paid due attention to building creative spaces, entertainment areas, and culture parks in a bid to mark new milestones for development.
