The Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) on June 26 officially launched a dedicated train service to transport doctors, medical staff and employees of Bach Mai Hospital between its Hanoi and Ninh Binh campuses. The train pair, coded PL1/PL2, will operate from Monday to Friday, stopping at Hanoi and Giap Bat stations in the capital and Phu Ly Station in Ninh Binh province.
The train pair, coded PL1/PL2, operates from Mondays to Fridays, stopping at Ha Noi and Giap Bat stations in the capital city and Phu Ly station in Ninh Binh.
PL1 departs Ha Noi Station at 6:15am and arrives at Phu Ly Station at 7:22am. Shuttle buses will transport passengers directly to the second facility of Bach Mai Hospital. In the opposite direction, PL2 will leave Phu Ly at 5:20pm and arrive in Ha Noi at 6:30pm.
Ahead of the launch, VNR has directed relevant units to finalise operational plans, inspect equipment and arrange personnel. Infrastructure management units are also reviewing railway safety corridors and level crossings along the Ha Noi Phu Ly route, while stations are completing preparations for passenger services.
According to VNR, the dedicated service is expected to improve travel convenience for medical workers and support healthcare services for local residents.
To meet the daily commuting needs of more than 500 hospital staff, VNR has deployed a nine-car train with soft-seat coaches. Passengers are also provided with light meals and beverages during the journey.
