Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and a delegation of the Government had a working session with leaders of Ninh Binh province on August 19.

Joining the delegation were Lai Xuan Lam, Deputy Secretary of the Government’s Party Committee; Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; and Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Deputy Minister of Justice.

At the working session, leaders of the provincial People’s Committee proposed to the delegation create favourable conditions for the province to build an international airport on an area of 720 hectares in Liem Tuyen ward; build a deep sea port and expand Ninh Co Economic Zone; expand Cao Bo - Mai Son section (CT01) of the Noth South expressway; construct Ring Road 5 (CT.39); build an expressway connecting former Nam Dinh city to former Phu Ly city; and build an urban metro line connecting Hanoi and Ninh Binh.
Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha suggested Ninh Binh province focus on a number of important issues in socio-economic development. Specifically, Ninh Binh needs to review and redo the planning scheme, invite the best consulting agencies, clearly identify each economic development area towards green transition and circular economy. In addition, the province needs to consider human-friendly development, protect human rights; invest in modern urban infrastructure; build multi-purpose infrastructure; and focus on digital transformation in all fields.
Regarding the province's proposals, the Deputy PM agreed with the Ninh Co Economic Zone and deep-water port. He said that expanding to the sea and building a deep-water port could create a new growth pole for the Red River Delta, noting that localities must pay attention to environmental impact assessment.
Regarding the airport planning, Ha suggested that the province should calculate the travel needs of passengers, especially international visitors, to ensure suitability, and at the same time seek opinions from relevant ministries and sectors, especially on determining air traffic.
Regarding traffic infrastructure, the Deputy PM agreed with the expansion of the CT01 expressway from Cau Gie to Cao Bo, and assigned the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to coordinate with the locality to implement it soon; consider supporting capital for CT39 and CT11 routes. Particularly for the Hanoi - Ninh Binh metro line, Ninh Binh province needs to coordinate with Hanoi and relevant agencies to integrate the planning, ensuring consistency and long-term exploitation efficiency.

On behalf of the provincial Party Committee, Huy accepted the directionsof Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and affirmed that the province will quickly implement the directions, focusing on planning, building economic development plans, site clearance, building urban areas, attracting infrastructure investment capital... towards building a province that develops quickly and sustainably.
