Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski on October 26 had a working session with Chairman of the Ninh Binh provincial People Committee Pham Quang Ngoc.

Gawkowski, who is in Vietnam to join the Signing Ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime (also known as Hanoi Convention), said there remains huge potential for Vietnam’s Ninh Binh province and Polish localities to boost cooperation in socio-economic development, technology, and telecommunications, said.
Expressing his honour at visiting and working in Ninh Binh during his trip to Vietnam, Gawkowski lauded the province’s stunning scenery and tourism potential, especially its efforts in preserving and restoring heritage.
Gawkowski affirmed that his working visit will lay the foundation for developing ties between Polish localities and Ninh Binh. He pledged to support the establishment of local-level cooperation, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the Poland Vietnam relations in a robust, effective, and substantive way.
The official voiced his hope that businesses from both sides will have more opportunities to meet, connect, and set up partnerships in the near future.

For his part, Ngoc briefed the guest on Ninh Binh’s socio-economic development, noting that the province will focus on fully tapping its potential and advantages to drive breakthrough growth under a new development model in the next five years, with heritage as a resources, culture as soft power, and advanced technology - particularly digital transformation - serving as the strategic breakthrough to realise its aspirations for progress.
The local authorities have been mobilising all resources and vigorously implementing the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, he said.
Ngoc revealed that with its strategic determination and orientation on digital transformation, Ninh Binh has been selected to host the Vietnam International Digital Week 2025 (VIDW 2025) from October 27 29, which is expected to bring together ministers and heads of delegations from ASEAN nations, as well as global leaders, managers, scientists, and experts operating in digital transformation.
He suggested Gawkowski introduce Polish localities that share similarities with Ninh Binh to promote the establishment of friendship and local-level cooperation, towards further deepening the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Poland.
With the support of the Polish official, local-level cooperation mechanisms between the two countries will soon produce tangible results, helping to boost the Vietnam Poland relationship, he said./.
