    At its first session, the 16th National Assembly adopted a resolution electing Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, as Prime Minister of Vietnam. The National Assembly voted to approve the resolutions on the appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other members of the Government for the 2026-2031 term.

    At the session, 495 out of 495 lawmakers voted in favour of the resolution approving his appointment. The resolution affirms that Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, and a deputy to the 16th NA, will serve as Prime Minister for the 2026-2031 term.

    Presenting a draft resolution on the election of the State President, NA General Secretary and Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Manh stated that, based on the Constitution, relevant legal provisions and the official vote-counting record, the legislature resolved to elect Party General Secretary To Lam as State President.

    Ninh Binh aims to become global creative city

    The Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee on January 30 issued Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU on the strategy for developing the cultural and tourism industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045. In accordance with Resolution 07-NQ/TU, the strategy aims to develop the cultural and tourism industry of Ninh Binh province into a key economic cluster, shifting from single-sector to multi-sector development, linking innovation with heritage preservation, and building Ninh Binh into a UNESCO-recognised global creative city by 2045.

    Resolution announcing results of 16th National Assembly election adopted

    Chairman Man affirmed that the election held on March 15 was a resounding success, describing it as a major national festival conducted in a democratic, equal, lawful, safe, economical and substantive manner. He noted that this was one of the largest and most demanding elections to date, both in terms of scale and workload, particularly as it took place amid new challenges and complexities compared to previous terms.
