Therefore, the investors and contractors are mobilising all resources, workforce and equipment to work round the clock in a bid ensure the progress of construction as well as its quality.
These days, at the bustling construction site of the East-West road project, hundreds of engineers and workers are carrying out their jobs to accelerate the project’s progress.
Pham Quoc Chinh, Director of the provincial management board of transport projects, said the East-West road project (first phase) has total length of 22.95 kilometers.
It is designed to have four lanes while the section connecting the starting point with the intersection of the North-South expressway will have eight lanes.
Thanks for a high sense of responsibility of localities, the site clearance has basically completed. Relevant localities have handed over 22.95 out of 22.95 kilometers of reclaimed land. However, some technical infrastructure works in reclaimed land area have not been cleared.
Currently, 18.7 kilometers out of 22.95 kilometers of road have been paved with asphalt while 19 kilometers out of 22.95 kilometers of road have been filled with gravels; 108 out of 110 culverts and all four bridges have been completed.
To date, over 1.6 trillion VND of capital has been allocated to the project, accounting for 84% of the total capital investment. So far, 1.37 trillion VND was disbursed, while the value of construction and installement was 491 billion VND.
A representative of Thanh Trung Trade and Construction Co. Ltd., said the company is constructing a 6.44km section of the road in Phu Long commune of Nho Quan district. At present, there are over 100 workers, 40 machines and equipment working in two shifts a day in an attempt to complete construction as scheduled. It is expected to complete 100% of the road foundation by the end of this month.
The East-West road project is the largest inter-regional transport project in the province, which plays a significant role in improving the transport infrastructure for Kim Son – Nho Quan route; connecting expressways, national highways, roads, tourism sites, industrial clusters and zones between Tam Diep city and Nho Quan district and surrounding areas.
Relevant agencies, administrations at all levels and contractors are working hard to put it into use in September 2025./.
