Speaking at the 2nd Ninh Binh Tourism Promotion Conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung affirmed that in the strategy of expanding and diversifying the international tourist markets, Ninh Binh province identifies Japan as a key market with great potential and special strategic significance. Japan is not only one of the countries with a large source of tourists, high spending capacity, diverse experience needs, but also has similarities in culture, history and long-standing traditions with Vietnam.
Ninh Binh's typical tourism products such as heritage tourism, spiritual tourism, resorts, golf, community tourism and nature experiences are suitable for the tastes and trends of Japanese tourists.
Participating in World EXPO 2025 affirmed the province's determination to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, reaching international standards. Taking advantage of existing potential and strengths and anticipating global tourism trends, Ninh Binh identifies tourism and cultural industry as a key economic cluster, associated with high technology, digital transformation, green economy and circular economy.
The province firmly orients towards green-creative-sustainable-internationally integrated tourism with the goal of welcoming about 30 million visitors by 2030, including 4 - 5 million international visitors; contributing about 15% of GRDP.
By 2050, Ninh Binh strives to become a leading tourism-cultural centre in Southeast Asia, a global creative city recognised by UNESCO and one of the valuable "outdoor studios" of world cinema.
To realise the set goals, Ninh Binh determines to simultaneously deploy two important pillars: Improving the quality of tourism products and services and expanding the international tourist market. The province prioritises protecting the ecological environment, preserving local cultural identity, strongly attracting domestic and foreign investment capital flows; accelerating the construction and upgrading of strategic infrastructure such as international airports, high-speed railway systems, expressways, seaports; improving service quality according to international standards, building a green, smart, friendly, and modern tourism ecosystem.
On the other hand, the province considers promoting and expanding the international tourist market as a key task, in order to increase attraction and spread the image of a dynamic, friendly, and unique Ninh Binh to international friends.
From the important achievements and results that Ninh Binh province and Japanese partners have achieved after the 1st Ninh Binh Tourism Promotion Conference in Tokyo, the 2nd conference continued to deepen the Vietnam-Japan friendship, opened up new cooperation opportunities, promoted the image and tourism potential of Ninh Binh, bringing Japanese tourists to explore the beauty of world heritage and experience the friendliness and hospitality of the people of the ancient capital - Ninh Binh.
