The performances featured a range of dances and songs, including the Bineom prayer dance, Haenyeo song, Haenyeo Jeju dance, anchovy-net hauling song, Kichum winnowing dance, Aegigudeok lullaby and Mulheobeok water-jar game.

These performances showcased the distinctive cultural identity, vitality and resilience of Jeju’s people. The traditional art form celebrates the lives, livelihoods and indomitable spirit of the island’s female free-diving fishers.
Jeju’s free-diving culture was recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2026. The recognition honours the divers’ resilience and helps promote environmentally friendly fishing practices.
The programme offered Vietnamese audiences an opportunity to gain a closer appreciation of the Korean culture while celebrating traditional cultural values, fostering mutual understanding and strengthening cultural exchanges between the two sides./.
