Against the backdrop of a continuously complex global economic landscape, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee has issued a directive to departments, agencies, localities, and the business community to focus on implementing comprehensive solutions to promote exports in 2026, helping to maintain economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of local businesses.
As Vietnam is preparing for the European Commission (EC)’s fifth inspection, Ninh Binh province is mobilising the participation of the whole political system with the highest sense of responsibility to handle shortcomings and finalise all preparations to contribute to the country’s ongoing efforts to have the EC’s “yellow card” warning against Vietnamese seafood exports lifted.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on December 23 stressed the need to standardise data across agencies and localities on issues flagged by the European Commission (EC), as Viet Nam seeks to have the EC’s “yellow card” against its seafood exports lifted.
The sector recorded a trade surplus of 1.88 billion USD in November 4.7% lower than in October but 43.3% higher than the same period last year.
The Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan on expanding exports in the 2026-2030 period, setting an export growth target of 12% per year to reach 40 billion USD by 2030.
Ninh Binh’s export activities recorded positive outcomes in the first eight months of 2025 with turnover of 16.33 billion USD, accounting for 72.6% of this year’s plan. This important result is expected to help Ninh Binh achieve the target of two-digit economic growth.
As the European Commission (EC) is preparing to conduct the 5th inspection, Ninh Binh province - a locality with a traditional fishing industry and a significant offshore fleet - is focusing on implementing drastic solutions, both to overcome existing problems and to strengthen the foundation for sustainable fisheries management, aiming to have the EC’s "yellow card" lifted as soon as possible.
Authorities are focusing on boosting traditional growth drivers such as investment, consumption, and exports while implementing a broad array of policy measures to maintain economic momentum.
