According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province’s total export turnover in August 2025 reached 2.51 billion USD, an increase of 64.55%, bringing the total number in the eight months to 16.33 billion USD, a rise of 59.7% over the same period in 2024.
The United States currently accounts for about 22% of the province's export turnover, with more than 200 enterprises participating. From August 1, 2025, the US imposed a 20% reciprocal tax on imported goods from Vietnam, causing many enterprises to see a decrease in orders, some units reduced by up to 30% compared to the plan.
Some enterprises have restructured production and expanded markets. West Coast Flavors Company Limited proactively uses domestic raw materials and finds customers in markets outside the US, maintaining jobs for about 1,000 workers.
In July and August, the Department of Industry and Trade issued more than 1,200 sets of Certificates of Origin (C/O).
Key export items include cameras and components, footwear, clothing, auto parts and electronic components.
100% of customs procedures in Ninh Binh have been digitised, shortening customs clearance time.
In 2025, Ninh Binh aims to achieve an export turnover of 22.75 billion USD. After expanding its administrative boundaries, the province has an area of nearly 4,000 km2, a population of about 4.4 million people, and a coastline of 92 km. This is the foundation for export growth, but challenges remain due to US tax policies and competition from countries in the region.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed many solutions such as training human resources to issue C/O, updating tax policies and goods origin for businesses, promoting trade, taking advantage of free trade agreements (FTAs).
At the same time, the province proposed preferential policies on taxes and fees for import-export businesses and expanding the network of Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad.
The immediate goal of businesses is to maintain jobs and stabilise income for workers, thereby ensuring export goods in the last months of the year.
