Ninh Binh strives to eliminate all 1,216 substandard houses before September 30

Le Van Kien, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh, said in 2023 and 2024, 917 households received financial support to build new houses or repair their current homes with a total sum of 78.3 billion VND.

Besides, the provincial fund for social welfare also provided 9.38 billion VND for 371 households to build new houses or repair their current homes.

At the same time, the province has steered competent agencies to design five house models for eligible households to select.

Kien said this year, the province has identified 1,216 households in need of housing support, with 819 requiring new homes and 397 needing repairs with a total sum of nearly 90 billion VND.

The province is striving to complete the eradication of makeshift and dilapidated houses before September 30 - one month ahead of schedule set by the Prime Minister, Kien added.

Currently, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have been coordinating with localities to implement emulation movements and mobilise resources to build or repair houses for disadvantages households in the province.
