Project Management Unit No. 1 of Ninh Binh province on June 18 held a ground-breaking ceremony in Trung Son ward for Phase 1 of an inter-regional road project linking the Southern region of the Red River Delta with the Northwestern mountainous region and the North Central coastal region.
Delegates press buttons to start construction at the project.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Dinh Duc, Director of Project Management Unit No. 1, said the project is being implemented under the authority of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, with the unit serving as the investor.
The route will stretch nearly 32.4 kilometres and meet class II plain-road standards, with a design speed of 100 km/h and 60 km/h in urban sections. The project includes eight bridges, 12 intersections, underpasses for local traffic, as well as traffic safety systems, drainage infrastructure, street lighting and landscaping.
With a total investment of 6.94 trillionVND funded by the provincial budget, the route will pass through the wards and communes of Binh Minh, Dinh Hoa, Lai Thanh, Yen Mac, Dong Thai, Trung Son and Tam Diep.
Scheduled for completion in 2028, the project is expected to improve connectivity between the Northwestern provinces and key transport corridors, including the eastern North-South Expressway, National Highways 1, 12B, 45 and 10, as well as coastal roads serving northern and central coastal provinces. Authorities expect the project to create additional development space and provide a strong impetus for rapid and sustainable socio-economic growth.
Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Cao addresses at the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Cao Son described it as one of the province’s key infrastructure projects. He noted that approximately 21.4 km of the total route, equivalent to around 66%, has already been cleared and handed over for construction.
According to Son, the project stands out not only for the swift completion of investment procedures and preparatory work but also for the effective and coordinated implementation of land clearance.
To ensure timely and efficient implementation, Son called on the investor to mobilise maximum resources and organise construction in line with requirements on schedule, quality, technical standards and aesthetics.
He stressed the need for strict compliance with regulations on investment, construction, land management, environmental protection and occupational safety, while maintaining close coordination with relevant agencies and local authorities to promptly address any difficulties arising during implementation.
Localities along the route were urged to accelerate the clearance of the remaining sections while ensuring social stability and maintaining security and public order throughout the construction period.
Meanwhile, provincial departments, agencies and related organisations were asked to continue providing active support and close coordination with the investor and local authorities to ensure the project progresses on schedule and that any obstacles are resolved promptly, creating favorable conditions for the project’s successful implementation./.
