The province’s economic structure has continued to shift toward green, sustainable and harmonious direction. Industry, construction and services account for over 82% of the province’s economic structure.
In the January-September period, the industry and construction sector enjoyed a growth rate of 16.37%, remaining a main economic driver.
The province’s Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was estimated to rise 20.43% year on year in the third quarter of 2026 and 25.01% in the first nine months, compared with the same period in 2025.
Within the processing and manufacturing sector, laptop production increased 65.3%, electricity generation rose 40.5%, and truck production grew 35.5%. Meanwhile, production of garments declined 0.6%, urea fertilizer fell 6.3%, and passenger cars with fewer than 10 seats decreased 12.5%.
The trade and services sector expanded 9.04% during the nine-month period. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at 240.34 trillion VND, up 20% year on year. The province welcomed 20.55 million tourist arrivals, including 2.45 million international visitors, with tourism revenue estimated at 21.35 trillion VND.
Foreign trade also recorded strong growth. Export turnover reached an estimated 28.132 billion USD in the first nine months, up 50%, while imports stood at approximately 25.44 billion USD, an increase of 51%.
Electronic components accounted for the largest share of exports, with an estimated turnover of 11.25 billion USD, followed by garments at 3.15 billion USD and computers and components at 2.85 billion USD.
Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sector grew 2.73%. The province maintained 197 large-scale fields covering more than 6,600 hectares, while expanding water-saving rice cultivation and carbon-credit generation across more than 8,800 hectares. A total of 699 organisations and individuals have installed rooftop solar power systems for self-generation and self-consumption, with a combined capacity of approximately 173.54 MW.
Ninh Binh’s investment and business environment has continued to improve, with greater emphasis on transparency. During the first nine months of 2026, the province approved 124 new investment projects, including 38 foreign-invested projects with total registered capital of 493.7 million USD and 86 domestic projects with combined registered capital of 12.38 trillion VND.
During the same period, 3,909 new businesses were established, with total registered capital of 41.04 trillion VND. Total social investment reached 125.23 trillion VND, equivalent to 69.6% of the annual target.
The foreign-invested sector maintained relatively stable production, providing employment for approximately 250,000 workers and contributing an estimated 22.1 trillion VND to the state budget.
Despite the progress in attracting investment, the disbursement of public investment capital remains a challenge. After nine months, Ninh Binh had disbursed 12.82 trillion VND, equivalent to 36.5% of the target assigned by the Prime Minister./.
