Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc on September 24 received Cheng Yongwen, Vice Governor of Hubei province (China), and his delegation who were a working visit to Ninh Binh province.

Ngoc expressed his joy and excitement to welcome the Vice Governor and the delegation.
He briefed the delegation on Ninh Binh province’s situation, saying that it was formed on the basis of merging three provinces: Ninh Binh - Nam Dinh - Ha Nam.

After the merger, Ninh Binh has great potential and strength, and owns a large and rich amount of tangible and intangible cultural heritages. It is the ancient capital of the first centralised feudal state in Vietnam, and now boasts the World Cultural and Natural Heritage of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, the first and only mixed heritage in Southeast Asia recognised by UNESCO.
With an important strategic position as the "gateway" to the South of the Northern Delta, connecting and transitioning between the three major economic regions of the country, Ninh Binh has many favourable conditions to develop environmentally friendly high-tech industry, tourism, cultural industry and heritage economy, and organic agriculture, he said.
Ngoc emphasised that the relationship between Ninh Binh province and Hubei province has been continuously strengthened since 2019 when the two administrations signed the "Letter of Intent on cooperation and development". Over the past six years, the two localities have maintained good exchanges of high-level delegations, implemented many practical cooperation activities, thereby enhancing mutual understanding, promoting comprehensive, effective and sustainable cooperation.
On this occasion, he suggested the two sides continue to increase exchanges of high-level delegations, promote Party foreign affairs, administration diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy; encourage businesses of both sides in investment and trade cooperation; promote cultural and tourism exchanges between the people of the two localities; cooperate and share experiences in preserving historical and cultural relics.
For his part, Cheng congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements that Ninh Binh province has achieved in the past time, and proposed a number of contents that need to continue to promote cooperation in the coming time, such as strengthening cooperation in education and training, culture, tourism, scientific and technological research, logistics, industrial production, and trade.
He said Hubei province has an international airport with more than 100 routes, including flights to Vietnam.
Vietnamese agricultural products such as dragon fruit and durian are currently receiving support and love from many Hubei people and it is hoped that Vietnamese specialties will continue to be favored by Chinese people and special products of Hubei province will also be known to many Vietnamese people.
With such potential and favorable conditions, Cheng hoped that in the coming time, leaders of Ninh Binh province will spend time visiting and surveying Hubei province, thereby promoting cooperation between the two localities.
Highly agreeing with the cooperation suggestions mentioned by Cheng, Ngoc affirmed that in the development orientation and strategy, Ninh Binh province really needs development cooperation with localities of China, including Hubei province, in the fields of science and technology, education and training, and logistics development. These are favourable conditions to promote the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province in the coming time, he said.
