Art on the rice fields in Tam Coc has become a unique tourism product during the Ninh Binh Tourism Week in recent years. This year, the authorities and people of Ninh Hai commune and Tam Coc tourist area have created a rice artwork "Carp jumping over the dragon gate" on an area of 10,000 sq.m.
The rice fields in Tam Coc are famous as one of the most beautiful rice fields in Vietnam with an area of over 18 hectares, winding along the Ngo Dong River.
According to artist Nguyen Phuc Khoi, the artwork "Carp jumping over the dragon gate" is a symbol of success and progress in life, very suitable for the successes of Ninh Binh in recent times. The artwork is considered a symbol of perseverance, creativity and effort to overcome difficulties and challenges in life. In addition, carp is also considered a symbol of longevity and luck.
With that spirit, artist Phuc Khoi always wants to innovate artistic forms on the rice fields but still ensure the folk elements, close to the typical rice farming residents in the Northern region in general and in Ninh Binh in particular.
Bui Thi Nhai, who is in charge of environmental landscape at the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Site, said that the rice is currently in the stage of strong growth, tillering and preparing for the earing period. People will carry out replanting and fertilizing to create the best conditions for the plants to grow, tiller, creating uniformity for the fields, creating the most colorful, complete and sharpest artwork.
Aiming to successfully build "Tam Coc four seasons" to create new products and diverse experiences for domestic and international tourists, in the coming time, the Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Site hopes to create art on the rice fields not only at the Hai cave entrance but also on the entire field, becoming an artwork on the largest rice field in Vietnam to honour the wet rice agriculture of the Vietnamese people.
