In 2024, the programme on building new-style rural areas in Ninh Binh province was carried out in a creative and practical manner and reaped outstanding achievements, with the spiritual and material lives of local people improved.Rural areas get facelift.
Ninh Binh strives to complete tasks of building new-style rural areas in 2025
Last year, the province mobilised 5.53 trillion VND (218 million USD) for the programme. Of which, 225 billion VND came from province’s budget, over 285 billion VND was sourced from districts and communes’ budgets and over 1.43 trillion VND contributed by local people.
In 2024, 15 communes met standards of advanced new-style rural areas while six others were recogised as model new-style rural areas, surpassing the yearly plan.
To date, six districts have met nine out of nine criteria set for new-style rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; and two cities have completed tasks of building new-style rural areas in the 2021-2025 period.

Also in the year, Yen Khanh district was recognized to complete all criteria of an advanced new-style rural area. Yen Mo district is pending for approval of the central appraisal committee of completing all criteria of an advanced new-style rural area.
Ninh Binh province set targets to finalise all regulations and documents to be recognised to complete the tasks of building new-style rural areas in 2025.
Yen Mo district expects to earn the title of “advanced new-style rural area” while Gia Vien district will finalise documents to meet standards of advanced new-style rural areas.
To realise the set targets, local sectors, branches and localities will continue to mobilise resources, and create consensus among local people to maintain and improve their accomplished criteria, thus joining hands with the whole province to complete tasks of building new-style rural areas in 2025 and turning Ninh Binh into a centrally-run city by 2035.
