Trang An Festival 2025 with the theme "Trang An - A thousand-year heritage, the sacred soul of mountains and rivers" opened at Trang An Eco-tourism Site in Ninh Binh province on April 13 – the 16th day of the third lunar month.Trang An Festival serves as a convergence and connection of the unique cultural values of the ancient capital land, showcasing the distinctive spiritual and religious culture of the people of Ninh Binh.

Attending the event were Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Thi Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee. Thousands of local people and tourists also joined the festival.
The Trang An Festival is held annually to commemorate the merits of Saint Quy Minh Dai Vuong. He was a general under the 18th Hung King, who had the merit of defending Son Nam pass, protecting the country's borders; and helping people enjoy favourable weather, a prosperous and happy life.
This year, coming to the Trang An Festival, delegates and many domestic and international tourists participated in many special activities such as: drum performances; dragon procession from Tam Quan gate to Trang An boat wharf on Sao Khe river; water procession, palanquin procession, dragon procession combined with special art programmes on Sao Khe river.

At the festival, the special art programme with 20 live stages spread across the heritage area has the participation of more than 600 artists and actors, performing more than 50 traditional art forms from regions across the country such as: Bac Ninh Quan Ho (love duet), Hue Royal Court Music, gong performance, Kim Son drum dance, Xuan Pha performance, Cheo singing, Xam singing and dances of the Red Dao, San Diu, Lo Lo ethnic groups.
With the message of protecting forests, preserving ecosystems and sustainable development, the Trang An Festival 2025 aims to continue to convey the mindset of living in harmony and respecting nature; honoring the historical depth and eternal value of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; arousing revolutionary traditions, national pride and cultural, historical and religious values with the unique identity of an ancient capital in the heart of heritage.
The ultimate vision is to transform Hoa Lu into a millennium heritage city — a creative urban hub, a cultural and tourism industry centre of regional and international stature, a green lung, and a driving force for growth in the Red River Delta.
