Breakthrough policies for tourism development
Since the province has defined tourism as its spearheaded economic sector by 2030, it has carried out numerous breakthrough policies in a bid to attract investment into tourism infrastructure and services towards improving the quality of workforce and supporting the local community as well.
One of the province’s outstanding policies is to develop homestay service. Local people who build new homestay establishments or upgrading current ones will be provided with 100 million VND and 50 million VND for each work, respectively.
The policy has created favourable conditions for local people to start up their business and develop the province’s tourism. Numerous homestays establishments have been built, meeting the demand of tourists.
By the end of 2024, the province has had over 900 accommodation establishments with more than 10,000 rooms, over 40 of which meet 1-5-star standards.
Developing sustainable tourism, taking local people as centre
In 2024, the tourism sector has reached targets ahead of schedule. It has welcomed 1.08 million international tourists, the highest-ever figure.
The outcomes were attributed to the efforts and creativeness in carrying out digital transformation and developing smart tourism ecosystem and digital tourism in a sustainable manner.
The province has always taken local people as the center in all strategies, thus creating a solid foundation to connect traditional and modern values.
This approach not only improves living standards for local people, but also inspires them to act as “tourism ambassadors”, thus helping to promote the homeland’s images.
The province has also paid special attention to promoting tourism in target markets such as India, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Japan.
In September, a delegation of nearly 5,000 Indian tourists visited Ninh Binh. This has proved the attractiveness of Ninh Binh as well as its capacity to serve a huge number of holidaymakers.
With the obtained achievements, in the time to come, the province will continue to implement support policies to spur tourism growth and preserve cultural and natural values by preserving natural heritages and combining development with environmental protection.
Ninh Binh will expedite big projects such as Kenh Ga - Van Trinh resort area, expand Trang An tour and develop community-based tourism services in many districts. It will invest and launch new tourism products to attract tourists and raise tourism competitiveness.
With its steady steps, Ninh Binh expects to earn over 8 trillion VND in tourism revenue and contribute 6.5% to the province’s GRDP in 2025.
By 2030, the provincial tourism sector is hoped to earn 18.66 trillion VND and contribute 8% to the province’s GRDP.
Ninh Binh also sets a target to turn itself into a major hub with a high value in terms of tourism, cultural industry and heritage economy of the whole country and the Asia-Pacific region.
