Ninh Binh continues to write heroic epic of spring victory

The Dien Bien Phu victory ended the nation's resistance war against the French colonialists, but the Fatherland was still divided. Responding to the call of the country and beloved Uncle Ho, the army and people of Ninh Binh were seething with the revolutionary spirit, carrying out two strategic tasks: Building socialism in the North and fighting to liberate the South and reunify the country.

During the arduous years of the resistance war against the US to save the country, Ninh Binh was not only a solid rear base but also actively provided human and material resources for the southern frontline, contributing to the victory of April 30, 1975.

The army and people of Ninh Binh fought bravely to protect their homeland, achieving resounding victories: shooting down 90 planes out of a total of 2,700 US planes shot down in the sky of the North.

Ninh Binh province saw off nearly 60,000 outstanding young people to join the army, contributing to the fight  in the South.

Through the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American imperialists, the Party Organisation, people and armed forces of Ninh Binh were honoured to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State.

More than 16,000 martyrs, nearly 14,000 wounded soldiers, and more than 1,270 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers are proof of the silent but great sacrifices of the land and people of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, joining the victorious flow of the nation.

After the war, promoting the tradition of the heroic homeland, the Party Organisation, administration, army and people of Ninh Binh have united, proactively and creatively overcome difficulties and challenges to rise strongly.

In particular, after 33 years since its re-establishment in 1992, Ninh Binh has had a spectacular transformation. From a poor, backward agricultural province, Ninh Binh has risen to become one of the dynamic economic bright spots on the map of the Red River Delta region and the whole country. The breakthrough is clearly demonstrated through its ability to balance the budget and contributions to the central budget since 2022.

Currently, Ninh Binh is not only a strong growth pole but also a leading province in many fields: Being one of the three leading automobile manufacturing centres in the country. Tourism is always in the top destinations of domestic and foreign tourists; the rural landscape has changed, with 100% of communes meeting new-style rural standards and many communes achieving the advanced and model status. Ninh Binh province completed the task of building new-style rural areas in 2024.

National defence, security, social order and safety have been maintained, while people's lives are increasingly improved and enhanced.

All of these are vivid evidence of the indomitable will and strong aspirations of the Party Organisation, administration and people of Ninh Binh, turning potential into development momentum, striving to realise the goal of building Ninh Binh into a centrally-run city with the characteristics of a millennium heritage city by 2035./.
