It also expects to have three districts completing tasks of building advanced new-style rural areas and to be recognised by the Prime Minister for completing tasks of building new-style rural areas by 2025.
Worth-living rural areas
Hoa Lu district today – an advanced new-style rural area, has become a worth-living area with spacious and clean roads and big houses.
Hoa Lu boasts rich history and culture. It is the first capital of the feudal state of Dai Co Viet under three dynasties ofDinh, Tien Le and Le during the 10th century.
Hoa Lu has natural conditions with mountains, forests, plains, valleys and caves, creating a spectacular natural landscape for Hoa Lu.
Over the years, the district has promoted these potential and strengths to develop tourism. In addition, it has applied digital transformation in advertising tourism and stepping up administrative reforms, creating favourable conditions for business households and tourism companies.
While the mountainous district of Nho Quan has set a target to become a model new style rural area. Therefore, it has developed OCOP in parallel with stepping up the application of information technology in administrative management and public services, especially in agricultural production.
To date, the document management system has been carried out in all units, agencies, sectors, and communes in the district.
Local people have got familiar with online public services as 83.2% of files have been handled online.
Local administrations at all levels have also steered digital groups to support local people in setting and using digital services, such as e-healthcare record, digital payment and e-commerce.

Many local farmers have participated in e-commerce platforms to advertise and sell their farm products while many others have applied hi-tech in agricultural production.
The combination of digital transformation and OCOP programmes in Nho Quan has helped improve living standards for local people and economic development.
By the end of September 2024, all of 119 communes in the province have met criteria of new-style rural areas. Of which, 53 were recognised as advanced new-style rural areas and 18 model new-style rural areas. All six districts have fulfilled tasks of building new-style rural areas.
To date, there are 186 OCOP products, including 69 four-star products and 117 three-star products.
Hoang Ngoc Chinh, Vice Chairman of the provincial Association of Farmers, said the province has carried out numerous solutions to apply technologies and digital transformation in agricultural production and reaped practical outcomes.
Hi-tech application has helped shift traditional agriculture to modern one, thus increasing labour effeciency, and developing more OCOP products.
In an effort to realise the province’s orientation of becoming a national tourism hub, localities have actively built new-style rural areas in combination with developing tourism, focusing on building landscapes for rural areas, preserving and developing traditional handicraft villages.
