Deputy PM inspects second establishment projects of Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospital in Ninh Binh

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on July 16 led a delegation to inspect the second establishment projects of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital in Ninh Binh province.

Long and the working delegation inspected the construction and installation items at the second establishments of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital.
Implementing the Government's direction on completing the construction of the second establishments of the two hospitals and putting them into use in 2025 (striving to complete before November 30, 2025), the Ministry of Health has regularly inspected and urged relevant units to speed up the progress and promptly resolve problems. More than 2.45 trillion VND has been allocated for the two projects.
Leaders of the Ministry of Health said that regarding the progress of construction and installation items at the two projects, Bach Mai Hospital strives to complete the construction packages before August 15, and Viet Duc Hospital strives to complete before September 15.
Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc said that Ninh Binh province has allocated about 28.5 hectares of land to build housing areas for medical staff and employees.

In early June 2025, the province started construction of two social housing projects (600 apartments) with funding from the provincial budget with a total investment of about 430 billion VND. The projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Regarding human resources, the province has directed the provincial Medical College to coordinate with Viet Duc Hospital to jointly train personnel, ready to work when the hospitals come into operation.
The provincial People's Committee has coordinated with Bach Mai Hospital to carry out investment procedures to build Bach Mai University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Nam Cao University and a social housing project with two 9-storey buildings to serve students studying at the schools.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasised that the Government is determined and resolutely directing the two projects of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital to put them into operation in 2025.

He acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Health, the Project Management Board, the two hospitals, Ninh Binh province and contractors in implementing their tasks to achieve positive results in the construction progress of the two projects.
To put the two hospitals' second facilities into operation on schedule and as planned, Long suggested the Ministry of Health coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to remove financial and capital mechanism obstacles for construction contractors.
Contractors need to be more determined, work overtime, arrange engineers and workers to speed up the progress of equipment and IT infrastructure packages, he said.
The Deputy PM requested that in July 2025, the Ministry of Health and relevant ministries and branches urgently report to the Prime Minister on solutions to remove obstacles for these two projects.
