AEON Vietnam Co. Ltd. on August 9 officially broke ground on AEON Phu Ly Shopping Mall, marking the Japanese retail group's latest expansion in northern Vietnam.

The shopping mall will have a total floor area of approximately 26,264 sq.m, with parking facilities accommodating nearly 300 cars and 1,400 motorbikes.
AEON Phu Ly is expected to become a modern destination for daily shopping, dining and entertainment, meeting the growing needs of local residents while contributing to the development of modern retail services in the area.
The mall is scheduled to open in 2027, marking another step in AEON's expansion across the Red River Delta. The project aims to provide local consumers with modern shopping and entertainment experiences, enhance their quality of life and contribute to the local socio-economic development.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Tezuka Daisuke, Executive Officer and Representative of AEON Group in Vietnam and General Director of AEON Vietnam, said the group believed the project will make a positive contribution to the economic development of Ninh Binh province.
With total investment exceeding 940 billion VND (35.7 million USD), the project is expected to create more than 800 jobs once operational, he said.
AEON will also actively promote and expand market access for local specialty products, Tezuka added.

The location also offers strong consumer potential, favourable connectivity within the Red River Delta and an open, transparent and dynamic investment environment, he said.
With a focus on promoting local identity, AEON Phu Ly has been designed to create an iconic community space that brings together the area's distinctive historical and cultural values while integrating them with a modern urban lifestyle.
