Vanuatu Prime Minister visits factory of Hyundai Thanh Cong

Vanuatu Prime Minister Jotham Napat, along with his wife and a high-level delegation, on January 21 paid a fact-finding trip to the factory of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam in Gian Khau industrial park in Gia Tran commune of Ninh Binh province.
The Prime Minister and the delegation of Vanuatu visited the production line at the Hyundai Thanh Cong automobile manufacturing plant.
The delegation was welcomed by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Anh Dung, and leaders of the provincial Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks and the provincial People’s Committee’s office.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Anh Dung briefed the guests on the province’s socio-economic situation, potential and strengths.

He hoped the visit would help build cooperative ties, and step up cultural diplomacy and people-to-people exchange, thereby promoting friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Vanuatu.

For his part, PM Jotham Napat said Vietnam and Vanuatu set up diplomatic ties in 1982. Vanuatu boasts potential for cooperation in the fields of fisheries, agriculture, tourism, trade, investment, construction, education and health care.
Currently, there are over 500 Vietnamese people living in Vanuatu and they are one of the largest foreign communities in Vanuatu.
The Prime Minister expected that Ninh Binh would connect and introduce enterprises to visit and study cooperative opportunities in Vanuatu.
At the same time, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that the Thanh Cong Group would focus on developing projects and investment activities in Vanuatu, especially in the automotive manufacturing sector, an area where Vanuatu has not developed.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister and the delegation of Vanuatu visited the production line at the Hyundai Thanh Cong automobile manufacturing plant./.
