The Party committee, People’s council, people’s committee and Vietnam Fatherland front committee in Nam Hoa Lu ward officially held the opening ceremony for Thai Vi temple festival on May, 1st.

Located in Nam Hoa Lu ward, Thai Vi Temple is not far from Tam Coc Bich Dong landscape. It was built to commemorate contribution of generations of Tran Kings. The temple was constructed right on the ground where King Tran Thai Tong chose to build the ancient imperial palace Thai Vi.
Every year, Thai Vi Temple Festival takes place on the 14th day of the 3rd lunar month, with numerous activities such as palanquin procession, sacrifice ceremony, human chess playing, wrestling contest, dragon dancing and boat rowing, etc.

Thai Vi temple was recognised as national historical and cultural relic site by Ministry of Culture in 1994.
In his opening speech, leader of Nam Hoa Lu ward affirmed that the festival does not help preserve and promote the cultural values and also serves as important momentum for locality’s socio-economic development.
Delegates burns incense to pay tribute to generations of Tran kings.
Later, delegates burnt incense to pay tribute to the Tran kings and ancestors and pray for national peace, favourable weather and bumper crop.
