The sub-project on improving urban infrastructure in Phat Diem town is part of a project on improving urban infrastructure in the four north-central coastal provinces in order to minimize impacts from climate change. It was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 1085/ QĐ-TTg dated August 23, 2019.
It has total investment capital of over 881 billion VND (33.56 million Euro). Of which, 717.6 billion VND comes from an AFD loan while the rest comes from the province's budget and other legal capital sources. The sub-project is implemented from 2020 to 2024.
The province’s management board of civil and industrial investment and construction projects is the investor.
Tong Duc Long, vice director of the management board, said the multi-purpose sub-project aims to improve the urban infrastructure, maintain socio-economic stability, increase the quality of the living environment and mitigate bad impacts of climate change.
Accordingly, the sub-project aims to upgrade roads, dredge the beds and concrete dykes along the banks of Phat Diem, Luu Phuong and Tan Thanh rivers; build roads and bridges along the rivers; build a wastewater collection system and treatment station; and construct three waste collection stations.
Work on the sub-project started in October 2022. To date, contractors are mobilising personnel, equipment and machines to speed up the progress of work items.
To date, more than 466 billion VND has been disbursed for the construction and installation works, accounting for 52% of the total capital investment.
