In her opening remarks, President of the Ninh Binh Tourism Association Duong Thi Thanh underscored that Ninh Binh is paying special attention to developing culinary tourism in a bid to advertise its delicate and diverse cuisine and turn it into a tourism product with high competitiveness, thus contributing to developing the province into a safe, friendly, quality and attractive destination.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan said that developing culinary tourism not only helps lure travellers but also introduce and popularise local outstanding cultural values to domestic and foreign friends.
In order to build culinary tourism, Ninh Binh needs to change its strategy and step up the exploitation of culinary advantages, he said.

The seminar would help local restaurants and travel companies to improve their operations, including services and food safety, Huan added.
Nguyen Quoc Ky, President of the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Company, suggested that Ninh Binh should systemize its traditional dishes and work with domestic and international organisations to improve the quality of traditional foods, and promote local culture culinary and destinations.

At the same time, state management agencies need to support the Ninh Binh Tourism Association to build culture stories linked with special dishes, Ky suggested.
Besides, the province needs to have policies to support culinary artisans and build facilities for culinary training, he added.
At the seminar, participants discussed and clarified Ninh Binh’s culinary situation in terms of food quality, decoration and services.
They also put forth solutions to develop tourism culinary culture of Ninh Binh.
They suggested that related sectors and branches should raise awareness and develop tourism culinary culture in combination with preserving and upholding traditional cuisine values.
Concluding the seminar, Director of the Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh stressed that basing on the suggestions, the Department of Tourism and the Ninh Binh Tourism Association would coordinate with related sectors and units to advise the provincial authorities to build a plan on developing tourism culinary culture.
