Project to expand eastern North-South expressway’s Cao Bo - Mai Son section launched
Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Doan Minh Huan, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Quang Ngoc attended the ceremony.
The expanded Cao Bo - Mai Son section has a total length of 15.2km. Its starting point connects with Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway in Hong Quang commune of Nam Dinh’s Y Yen district and its ending point connects to the eastern North-South expressway at the Mai Son - National Highway 45 section in Khanh Thuong commune of Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province.
The project is invested by the Department of Construction of Ninh Binh with a total investment of 1.87 trillion VND from the central budget.
The project is designed to have six lanes and scheduled to be completed by 2026.
Once completed, it would help meet the increasing demand of transport and minimise traffic accidents as well as supporting socio-economic development of Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces.
The project aims to finalise the national road system in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and to realise the goals set by the Politburo’s Resolution 30-NQ/TW on developing the socio-economy and ensuring defence - security in the Red River Delta.
