According to Ninh Binh sport Center No. 1, Nguyen Thi Linh, a wrestler from Ninh Binh province successfully bagged a silver medal at the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Championships held at My Khe Beach, Da Nang city on May 9 and 10.
In the women’s over-70kg category, Nguyen Thi Linh secured silver for Vietnam, while To Thi Minh claimed bronze. Greece’s Zacheila took the gold medal.
This is the first time, Vietnam has been awarded the right to host the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series by the United World Wrestling (UWW), marking the first time the country stage the event.
The host team of Vietnam sent 21 athletes to participate the tournament at different bodyweight categories.
Vietnamese wrestlers gained 7 medals in total.
