The event aims to further promote communication, publicity, and dissemination of the values of the “Stone inscriptions on Non Nuoc Mountain” heritage as part of the province’s efforts to nominate it for inclusion in the UNESCO Memory of the World Regional Register for Asia and the Pacific.
According to the plan, the seminar will provide an opportunity to widely introduce the historical, cultural, aesthetic, and scientific significance of the stone inscriptions system on Non Nuoc Mountain. Through this, it will contribute to demonstrating that the stone inscriptions heritage of Non Nuoc Mountain meets the criteria for nomination to the UNESCO Memory of the World Regional Register for Asia and the Pacific.
Additionally, the seminar will serve as a forum for domestic and international delegates, experts, and scholars to exchange views on the process of preparing the UNESCO nomination dossier, as well as to share experiences in the preservation and promotion of documentary heritage.
Within the programme framework, the organising committee plans to hold several side activities, including inviting delegates to visit the special national relic of Non Nuoc Mountain, explore the practical aspects of the stone inscriptions on the mountain, and organise an exhibition featuring photos and stone inscriptions rubbings at the seminar venue.
The international seminar “Journey to the UNESCO Documentary Heritage Stone inscriptions on Non Nuoc Mountain” is a significant activity in Ninh Binh’s strategy to preserve, promote, and enhance the value of its cultural heritage. It also provides an opportunity for Ninh Binh to reaffirm its status as a region rich in historical and cultural traditions./.
